Following the success of its first few years, from 2018 onwards the LuppArt colony (est. 2015) introduces a new tender and invitation-based application system for its Residency Programme. Alongside invited residents, the programme can now be accessed by young graduate artists through the application process.
Venue: 37 Platán alley, Luppa Island, Budakalász, 2011, Hungary
Dates: 29 July 2024 – 25 August 2024
Applicants may determine the duration of their residency, choosing from the following terms: 1 week, 2 weeks

Conditions of Participation

We await applications by artists under the age of 35 who have just finished their studies and are able to spend a minimum of one week in residency, sustaining their presence and creative work throughout this period. Furthermore, participants agree to donate one of the artworks created in residence to the LuppArt Collection. In return, we provide accommodation, meals twice a day, and the opportunity to buy paint material at a discounted price. Upon request and based on a separate agreement, we may also provide the promotion and marketing of works created on the island. Applicants will be selected by an advisory board comprising Tünde Topor, editor in chief of Artmagazin, Zsolt Petrányi, Head of the Contemporary Collection of the Hungarian National Gallery, Gábor Rieder, editor in chief of artkartell.hu, and Gábor Einspach, director of Art+Text Budapest Gallery. In collaboration with the aforementioned professionals we will also organise presentations and workshops.
